Tutoring in all Academic Areas of Development for Children and Youth
Reading Instruction
We provide multisensory reading instruction using an integrated approach to teach reading, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.
Writing Instruction
We provide multisensory, skill-based writing instruction designed to improve spelling, organization, and expressive writing development using a systematic and skills-based writing approach. Our kids love learning the “art of writing!”
Math Instruction
We provide mathematical instruction using a multisensory, multimodality process-based math approach. We focus on developing both quantitative and qualitative mathematical reasoning and skills. Our mathematical teaching is sequential, structured, and cumulative. Our kids thrive in their ability to strengthen their number sense, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculation, as well as in their algebraic thinking, geometry, and solving word problems.
Comprehension
We provide comprehension instruction for children who struggle with conceptual language processing. We teach children how to visualize and verbalize their thinking through the use of visual supports, which explicitly teach the conceptualization associated with specific vocabulary. We teach kids how to decontextualize text and annotate text through the use of the Cornell Note-Taking approach, a system based on clear and organized thinking systems.
Handwriting Instruction
We provide multisensory handwriting instruction to children who are struggling with fine motor and visual-motor skills. We utilize tactilely engaging materials along with clearly defined barriers to help reinforce good letter formation. Our children enjoy fun tracing activities that help to build successful movement orientation within letter and number formation. Our children are eager to try different techniques. Children who master handwriting techniques become more fluent readers and writers. Our developmentally appropriate instructional methodologies support children in developing automaticity in learning both print and cursive. Our innovative curriculum is designed to help children with Dyslexia and/or Dysgraphia.
Grammar Instruction
Our techniques for teaching grammar utilize sentence diagramming, color coding, and handson manipulatives. Our foundational approach teaches students to recognize the parts of speech in ways that make them easily identifiable. Multisensory grammar is crucial when teaching students how to combine sentences and subsequently create simple, compound, and complex sentences. Our grammar instruction is specifically tailored to support children with Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and language-based disabilities
